Initial Consultation:
Step into Understanding
Our first appointments allow us to explore your concerns and each child’s unique needs.
The first few meetings allow parents and young people to express their concerns, challenges, and goals. It gives the psychologist a chance to gather information from the youth, parents, and other professionals who may know them well. Our goal is for you and your child to feel heard and understood. Your valuable insights and observations help us determine the best way to support and treat each young person.

Treatment: Individualized Care
Following these initial meetings, we create a customized treatment plan designed to address your child's specific needs.
Each plan combines evidence-based therapies and techniques to support your child’s emotional and behavioral needs. A variety of methods, tools, and strategies are used to help your child overcome challenges, build resilience, and implement positive change. Individual sessions, along with parent meetings and consultations with other care professionals, are some of the methods used to enhance your child’s mental health.

It can be difficult to know when a child’s behavior is part of typical development or when it is a sign of something more serious. You know your child best and should trust your instincts if something doesn’t feel right.
Psychologists consider several factors when assessing whether a behavior is concerning:
Is the behavior extreme or does it persist over time?
Is the behavior age-appropriate or typical?
Does it make sense for the situation?
Is the behavior upsetting or affecting the family?
Does it impact the child’s friendships, school success, or other activities?
While occasional difficulties are normal, consistent problems may need further discussion. If you have questions about your child’s mental health, please contact us to discuss your concerns.
